Lodging in Park City Utah

Lodging in Park City Utah can be anything you want or need, from the local Best Western to a luxury suite at Deer Valley Resort and everything in between.  There is plenty of lodging in town itself for every need.

If you are traveling as a group or a family, the best way to go in my opinion is to rent a condo for your stay.  The initial outlay may seem more expensive but the amenities are more than worth it.  A lot of condos will have washer/dryers available which will help get those wet ski socks ready for another day.  Also many will have their own or access to a hot tub.  After a long day on the slopes there’s nothing more relaxing than a soak in a hot tub with a view of the stars and a glass of wine to finish the day.

A condo also gives you a few more options.  It can be a gathering place for your group, a place to have a snack or a drink before heading out for the evening.  A condo also gives you flexibility in meals.  You may want to fix a hot breakfast there instead of stopping for a meal on the way to the mountain.  Or pack lunches for the day.

If you don’t plan to go the condo route, I would advise looking for a place in town where the transportation is easy or walkable.  Park City has great free public transportation, but it is also a very walkable town.  Parking downtown is limited, so leave your car at your lodging and take the bus or walk.  There is lots of lodging in Park City available.  Some of the chains such as the Hampton Inn & Suites or Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites may be what you’re looking for.

Another option is to check out some of the bed and breakfast inns.  They are the perfect romantic getaway for the two of you.  Great food and cozy, easy access to the ski areas, ideal for a couple looking for some time alone together.

If you plan to ski at just one resort, then look for lodging nearest the resort.  Park City Mountain Resort is in town, but The Canyons and Deer Valley are a little bit out of town.  All 3 ski areas have their own “villages” offering lodging, food, and activities.  They are worthwhile to check out even if you plan on skiing the other resorts as they often offer great package deals.

Park City Mountain Resort is has its own village but is also right in town and is easily accessible from many different lodgings, but again they offer package deals if you’re staying there.

The Canyons is a little bit out of town, closer to the Olympic Park, but easily reached by bus.  They have lovely moderately to high priced hotel accommodations and package deals as well.  Their village has everything you need if you don’t feel like going in to town, or even if you do!

Deer Valley Lodging is the most luxurious.  They cater to every comfort from lodging to dining to ski in/ski out rooms.  If you want to give yourself a real treat check yourself in there.  Obviously they are also the most expensive place to stay, but you’re worth it, right?
